Employment & Labor Law
A reference period is the interval over which the organization of working time allows certain schedule balances to be assessed. It can explain why a busier week is compensated by another, within the applicable framework. It does not authorize ignoring maximum durations and mandatory rest periods.
To control an account, request the retained period, the applicable organization, and complete records. Examining a single day may be insufficient. Conversely, invoking an average without identifying the device that allows it does not automatically justify all excesses.
The reference period and the work organization plan are read together when a POT is used. Keep the complete calendar rather than a single monthly record. It allows verifying the announced compensations without losing sight of the rest periods or applicable limits.
