Civil & Commercial Litigation
A summons is a procedural document served by a bailiff / judicial officer to the person against whom a claim is made, to appear before a court. It sets out a procedural framework that must be read carefully upon receipt.
Identify the court, the subject of the claim, the dates, and the representation modalities. A summons is neither a simple payment reminder nor a judgment already rendered. Prepare the documents useful for your defense and have the necessary steps verified, without waiting for someone to personally remind you.
The first page is not always sufficient: the claims, announced documents, and appearance modalities may appear further. Therefore, transmit the document in its entirety to the person preparing your defense, with the date and circumstances of its delivery.
