Fixed-term contract (CDD)
The CDD is an employment contract concluded for a limited duration or for a term linked to a defined situation. In Luxembourg, its use must meet authorized cases: a written end date is not sufficient to make the use of a CDD valid.
The reason, duration, renewals, and contract terms must be examined together. An irregular use may lead to requalification as a CDI. The normal end of the term is distinct from an early termination.
