Maître Katarzyna Martin
Attorney-at-law / Avocat à la Cour admitted to the Luxembourg Bar — Founder of KM LegalAttorney-at-law / Avocat à la Cour admitted to the Luxembourg Bar and founder of KM Legal, she supports a Luxembourgish and international clientele with issues related to Employment & Labor Law, Immigration & International Mobility, professional immigration, as well as matters of Social Security & Cross-Border Rights and personal taxation that frequently accompany cross-border and professional scenarios.
Her career was built both within an international consultancy and in Luxembourg law firms. This dual experience enables her to address cases beyond their strictly legal aspects, taking into account the human, professional, organizational, and international challenges faced by employers, executives, employees, and professionals in mobility.
She provides counsel, participates in negotiations and litigation, with a particular focus on understanding the situation, identifying risks, and seeking a legally robust response tailored to the practical stakes of the case.
Background & approach
Before founding KM Legal, Maître Katarzyna Martin developed her experience within leading institutions in Luxembourg. She practiced for several years in the Employment Advisory & Compliance Services of BDO Luxembourg, where her practice notably focused on Employment & Labor Law, international Social Security & Cross-Border Rights, payroll taxation, and employee mobility.
After her admission to the Luxembourg Bar, she continued her practice within specialized Luxembourgish law firms, and later with KLEYR GRASSO until 2026. This career path allowed her to develop a practice that combines the legal expertise of the attorney-at-law with a practical understanding of the challenges faced by businesses, human resources departments, executives, and employees.
Each case is approached in its unique context. A difficulty related to an employment contract can, for example, have consequences on residence rights, social security affiliation, remuneration, or the tax situation of a person experiencing international mobility. This cross-disciplinary analysis enables the identification of interactions between various areas before they become an additional challenge for the client.
-
A direct relationship with the attorney who is familiar with the case, its context, and the issues accompanying each decision.
-
Clear explanations to enable the client to understand the possible options, their risks, and their concrete consequences.
-
A pragmatic approach that seeks a solution adapted to the real situation rather than a standardized legal response.
-
A practice particularly suited to cases that intersect employment, international mobility, immigration, Social Security & Cross-Border Rights, and taxation.
A cross-disciplinary practice in employment and mobility issues
International professional situations rarely confine themselves to a single legal field. The recruitment of a foreign employee, an expatriation, a secondment, or the return of an executive to Luxembourg can simultaneously raise issues of Employment & Labor Law, immigration, Social Security & Cross-Border Rights, and taxation.
Maître Martin's experience allows her to address these interactions holistically. She assists both companies and individuals in analyzing and coordinating these different challenges, with particular attention to cross-border situations and the mobility of employees, executives, and self-employed professionals.

An in-depth practice of Employment & Labor Law
Employment & Labor Law constitutes one of the central aspects of Maître Martin's practice. She advises employers, managers, and employees at the various stages of the employment relationship, from drafting or negotiating the contract to its termination.
Her practice notably covers employment contracts, termination agreements, disciplinary procedures, dismissals, restructurings and business transfers, as well as issues relating to remuneration, bonuses, and incentive schemes.
When a dispute cannot be resolved in advance, Maître Martin also intervenes in litigation before the labor courts. Advisory services and litigation are thus viewed as two dimensions of the same practice: preventing when possible, negotiating when appropriate, and defending the client's interests when recourse to a judge becomes necessary.
International Mobility&professional immigration
The mobility of an employee or manager often involves much more than a mere administrative procedure. Employment conditions, the right of residence, the applicable social security scheme and the fiscal consequences must be examined in a coherent manner.
Maître Martin supports companies, employees, managers, and self-employed individuals in their international mobility projects, particularly in the context of secondments, expatriations, and cross-border professional situations.
She also intervenes in professional immigration procedures, including applications for residence and work permits, processes related to the European Blue Card and, more broadly, issues faced by foreign nationals wishing to engage in professional activities in Luxembourg.
Training&knowledge transfer
Alongside her role as an attorney, Maître Katarzyna Martin acts as a trainer at the House of Training.
There, she delivers training sessions dedicated to Luxembourg Employment & Labor Law and international mobility to human resources professionals, managers, and corporate counsel.
This training activity naturally fits within her practice: explaining a legal rule, assessing its concrete consequences and enabling professionals to make informed decisions.
