Permanent Residence Right of Union Citizen

The permanent residence right falls under the regime of European Union citizens and certain family members. It is acquired under the conditions of duration and legality of stay provided by law, with particular rules for certain situations.

Absences must be examined to verify the continuity of stay or the retention of the right. This regime is not to be confused with the long-term resident status of a third-country national.
