Declaration of arrival

The declaration of arrival is a formality with the municipality of residence. It is part of the installation process in Luxembourg for third-country national employees and must be coordinated with the residence permit and the application for a residence card.

In the ordinary process for third-country national employees, this declaration must be made within three days of arrival. The municipal receipt is a document for the continuation of the file; it should not be confused with the residence card requested separately.

Prepare your housing proof and identity documents before the appointment. Keep the receipt: it is useful to demonstrate the completion of the formality and to complete the residence file. An address communicated to the employer or landlord does not prove that the municipal declaration has been made. Check the deadlines specific to your residence category.
