Affiliation of the self-employed worker to the CCSS
Affiliation to the Joint Social Security Center (CCSS) connects the self-employed worker to Luxembourg social insurance. The activity must be declared within eight days of its commencement. The coverage generally includes health-maternity, accident, pension, and dependency.
The form depends on the situation: the self-employed in their own name use the declaration intended for the self-employed. Some managers assimilated to the self-employed, however, use the entry declaration for employees. The name of the form does not alone determine the social status.
For a managing partner, it is necessary to examine the shares held, the establishment authorization, and the function performed. Confirmation from the CCSS allows verification of registration. Changes in management or authorization must be reported to them. Affiliation does not exempt from obtaining the necessary professional authorizations before starting the activity.
